Post something from the past that would be seen as quite interesting and bizzare today. This could be anything from proposed fights, sparring stories or anything like that. I'll start
Golden boy where looking to do shows over here as early as 2004 and where particularly interested in signing junior witter and carl froch. (I find this quite amusing as schaefar was saying a few months back that carl is nobody and the networks in the US dont want him, but back then he couldnt stop harping on about him as a potential star!!) Bradley was scheduled to defend against castillo in his first defence Andre berto fought as high as 168 in ams and gradually cut down Katsidis was close to fighting mundine at 154 Khan was seen as number 1 at 140 and expected to steamroll bradley Kell brook was severely underrated and quite a few people expected gavin to stop him should they have fought a few years back Gavin rees claimed hatton was ducking him after beating mbaye ![]() David haye watched valuev fight live when he was 16 Johnny nelson wanted to fight in 2008 ![]() |

After Gavin Rees' loss when he was out of the ring for over a year and just dissapeared, who would think that he would get a title shot against number one in the division one day after winning the british and euro titles.

That 18 years after his first fight with Eubank, Steve Collins would be on the verge of return against RJJ.. Now that is crazy!
Pacquiao would move up in weight like he did.. Knocking out and beating up bigger opponents. |

That after Froch got outboxed and dropped against Taylor, he got back up to come back and stop him in savage fashion with 14 seconds left on the clock.
That the gobby, blobby, Tyson Fury that arguably lost his first fight against McDermott and also punched himself in the face would go on to become a legit contender in the HW division, and also grow on boxing fans by proving to actually be pretty funny. |

The biggest one I can think of in British boxing:
In early 1990 (a year into Big Frank's retirement); if you had said in seven years time Bruno/Tyson will have a rematch, Bruno going in as champ. I would of agreed, and then slipped away, called the authorities, so they could section you... |

Detached retina, and seemingly Tyson was the future for the next decade, and no sane person wanted Bruno/TysonII.
I went to the Bruno comeback, but to watch 'The Beast' Mugabi, who was fighting this bum by the name of Gerald McClellan, whoever he was??? |

donaire schooled kirkland in ams
donaire absolutely battered a top 10 140pounder in sparring (few people like doug fischer where there who confirmed it but didnt say who it was only that they where top at 140), I think it was alexander as he had a fight coming up then Dawson stopped pavlik in ams Bradley got beat by vanes, berto twice (got stopped once),ward, direll in ams |
