If Weidman is the true #1 Contender, and anyone special, he will get his shot, and beat the man. But, I wouldn't say Anderson Silva is ducking the man and attempt to run with it.

Head to head, Cung's win over Franklin was more significant that Weidman over Munoz. Munoz can't string together a set of wins in the UFC. Franklin was a former champion. The game don't wait. It's all about name recognition and game recognizes game. Anderson would see a potential Cung Le fight as a gimme payday so why not take it?
