According to Vlad Warton getting James Toney and/or Samuel Peter to fight here hinged on Chad Bennett winning his fight against Ben Ankrah in Las Vegas today and then securing a title fight with WBO champ Ebenezer Lamptey over here.

Bennett having KOed Ankrah, the first piece of the jigsaw is in place.

Ebenezer Lamptey is the World Boxing Organisation African junior welterweight champion. Not the WBO 'world' champion.

None the less he is the guy Warton was talking about, and claiming he can add James Toney and/or Samuel Peter to the card.

The Wbo african champ is now Juilis Indongo. But I have no doubt that Vald could pull off this fight in Newcastle as a Wbo eliminator.

Good to see Chad Bennett continuing to tackle some of the most obscure journeyman he can find.
