I'm actually quite happy with the steps he's taken in the past couple years. Better skills, better fitness, better opponents.
He's moving in the right direction. He's as solid a contender as any of the top 5-10 guys out there now with these matches, in my opinion. I'm not frustrated one iota. I never expected him to actually do this well, so I'm pleasantly surprised, actually.

His career has been managed brilliantly up to now and Cunningham is another opponent where there isn't a massive risk involved but he can learn a huge amount from.
Let's not forget he's only 24. A baba in heavyweight terms. |

What's to be frustrated about? For a lad his age, that really didn't give a shit about the AM game and has had to learn alot on the job he's done well ... the only people that cry about it are Price fans ... beaten a few undefeated fighters, shutout Johnson just as effectivly as Vitali did,is exciting to watch when he's dragged into the trenches, gets up to win etc ... he's a fucking character and knows how to keep himself relevant in and out of the ring, have I mentioned he's still only a kid?For a lad his age his opposition has been just fine, and is only going to get better.

I think alot of the people that give him stick don't actually follow his career, they either know about his fights on here or through boxrec, alot of the people here that give him stick know fuck all about the lad.

Not Fury's fault if the entire division would rather sit on a ranking and try to cash out with a Klitschko fight.
Considering the lack of options - Johnson followed by Cunningham is pretty darned good. Fury is only 24 and just beginning to take the game seriously so the lack of truly big encounters is probably a blessing. If Vitali retires is he not in line to face the Stiverne Arreola winner for the vacant belt?? or at least be no1 contender if they make that fight a vacant title affair. things could get very interesting very quickly for Fury. At the rate Fury is developing the only guy I would avoid is Wlad, leave that for another 18 months at least. I'd give him at least a 50-50 chance at Vitali and Pulev everyone else he beats. I love Fury me.

He isn't my favourite person by a stretch, but to be honest I think he is doing ok career wise. His name has been mentioned for a title fight so they are probably trying to get him a few fights against name opponents who don't look likely to derail his chances of the big fight.

I used to be anti-Fury, pro-Price... how things have changed. Fury is usually better value (even if just for comedy), he actually has a personality and IMO has fought better opponents than blander than bland Price.
I would like to see Fury put in with some serious fighters now though, Helenius is surely there for the taking!? We won't get the Fury/Price fight, though I believe Price would KO him, but in terms of likeability he's grown on me and the goblin Frank Maloney/David Price snore-fest is boring me to dislike. |
