Wrong, Lewis promised a rematch in the ring to Vitali. He broke his word and retired. Lewis therefore lied.

No he did not!

if the money is right, yeah ok. Is far from a promise

What was that you said earlier - something about facts

Now is it a fact that "yeah ok, if the money is right" constitutes a promise or a lie - No

Default If vitali couldn't beat Lewis on a bad day

If vitali couldn't beat Lennox on one of his worst days why do these kilt fans think he should be favoured to beat Lennox if they had rematched

Lennox always did better in rematches so I don't see how they can claim vitali would of won a 2nd fight

Or is it just a colour thing

That's not what this thread, this fight has become. It's a farce really.

If I wanted to be sensible, I'd say Vitaly did far better than expected at the time, rattled Lewis early - hurt him a lot in Rd 2, Lewis stopped boxing and just started fighting, Vitaly got cut, Lewis saw an opportunity and did what you'd expect of an aging champion. He took it, mercilessly.
Vitaly had his chances, did well, but unfortunately came up short.

Both guys hammered the bejesus out of each other for 6 rounds.

Vitaly had his chance in RD2, and didn't take it. He gave Lewis a chance to get back in the fight, and Lewis took it.

What more can you say? Was Vitaly unlucky? Sure. Was it a legitimate win for Lewis. Yes.

I can have a discussion about whether or not Vitaly should have changed tactics after the cut, how come Lewis with a supposedly shaky chin turned into a face first brawler against a younger, fitter, taller man with a huge KO% - why Vitalys defence is great when he leans back and away unless you're in a with guy who has a huge reach, and is strong and willing to take a punch - why I think at that time Vitaly was better than Wlad

and much more. but it's been done over the years, and now you're just left with, well, loonies. Who are entertaining to wind up and watch them go.
Totally agree with your post, can't find anything to disagree with there. Though I would say that Vitali hurt Lewis badly in the 2nd but Lewis deserves credit for recovering quickly and punching back. Lewis may seem troubled/hurt but trust me he was clearly positioning to counter with deadly shots. Vitali's tactic in this fight was to outlast and exploit Lewis' terrible conditioning for this fight and that tactic was spot on. Sadly the cuts killed that tactic and forced him into a faster more panicked pace with only one eye to see from. Of course the punches from Lewis are to be blamed for those cuts. Still a great heavyweight fight, when was the last time leading up to this fight did the division have a fight like that?

that was the last great HW match i've seen. It was "good war" while it lasted. Credit to both really.

Some beggar asked me the other day if I had any spare change. I said no. Later that day I found a coin in my pocket.

They should call me Liesey.

My future job prospects are ****ed. Quick IB delete this post!
