-Cooper
-Liston
-Williams
-Frazier
-Foreman
-Shavers

and though shot as shit, he faced moore and ingo in sparring. quarry and norton were pretty solid punchers.

in this list alone, he's got 4 of the 20 best heavyweight punchers of all time in williams, liston, foreman and shavers and the latter 3 have a strong case for top 10

Clark was.a curiosity and a cruiserweight really. But yeah probably not...

I think.that Quarry and Norton are a notch under the level of being called 'punchers'. They could dig but their power wasn't their primary or even secondary attribute. How about the Fosters: Mac and Bob.

So we're all agreed? Given Lewis and his record against punchers it is completely unfair to label him chinny?

Nice record against punchers doesn't necessary make you an iron-chinned warrior.

But he was no Amir Khan or Terry Norris.
It's not like he was always one punch away from losing the fight.
Lewis wasn't chinny, in my opinion.

Just an average chin.
He can be hurt, he can knocked out by a big punch.
Not by any punch.

The weakness of Lennox's chin is largely overstated, really. He was only ever KO'd against big punchers who landed a huge shot flush. Against McCall he was wobbly and was rightly stopped IMO but he stood up with his gloves around his face.

Bob Foster-Mike Quarry

Devastation. I had already seen the knockout before, but this was the first time of watching the fight in it's entirety. Foster had a hell of a jab, and his patience and discipline was remarkable considering the dynamite he possessed in both hands. I was expecting him to be throwing a lot more power shots, but he seem to refuse to throw his right hand unless he was almost certain it would land. I like that in a fighter. Quarry was horribly out-classed.

Great jab. And probably the most aesthetically devastating K.O of all time, or equal to any other you could name.

Amazes me every time, and ts Fosters timing that just kills me.

And yes Addie, phenomenal jab. Perfectly complimented his ability to bang people out and created those opportunities for him.

how the fuck did something look so tall and borderline gangly and then generate RIDICULOUS power with little more effort than breathing?

btw: someone pointed out one of my all time favourite reactions from quarry's corner. they lifted mike's head and dropped it down like a sack of dicks as if to say "fuck it, this dude's DEAD. no use supporting the neck. let's go for a beer boys"

Indeed, Flea.

I just watched him about kill Dick Tiger. Interestingly, I didn't think Foster looked all that impressive in the rounds running up to the knockout. Tiger looked stupidly small in comparison and was able to counter Foster and get inside his long arms with hooks. Tiger was looking pretty good, but then he found himself on the end of a left hook from hell. Boom. Game-over.
