I do recall a lot of Tyson fans and even Holyfield and Bowe fans claiming that, and there were others too, so there was definitely a significant vocal faction that shared your outlook. I just never saw it that way. Every time he spoke about aging like a "fine wine" or quipping it takes "more than a left hook and a haircut to beat Lennox Lewis" always made me laugh. In fact, just him speaking in the third person was usually funny. I thought Lennox was an entertaining guy to listen to, especially towards the later parts of his career. He was obviously a smart guy, but he would sometimes try a little too hard to sound articulate, but this only enhanced his likability and gave his personality a bit of an edge. |

He's certainly not dull in hindsight, that's for sure.
You can create a highlight vid of Lennox's best fights and you'll see it all, combinations, demolitions, one punch knockouts, the lot. With Wlad, unless you're willing to go back to his earlier fights, you're limited to an endless procession of jab one twos, with a few one punch knockouts to spice things up. Nothing like the same type of versatility. Personality wise, I've always found Lennox quite amusing in a dry understated way. His pronunciation gaffs get me going as well. |

Dr. Paul Wallace. Ringside Physician for the Vitali-Lewis match Currently he serves as Chairman of the California State Athletic Commission's Medical Advisory Board. This is the man who actually stopped Vitali (well, the referee did but only due to the advice of this guy) Dont let anyone tell you otherwise Klitschko haters get a boner saying that Lennox ¨stopped¨ Vitali Bullshit. Being stopped by the opponent is when the referee sees one of the fighters badly hurt from taking hard punches repeatedly and looking unable to protect himself, so he jumps in and stops the fight to prevent unnecesary damage (nothing like that happened in the Vitali-Lewis match btw) This is how being ¨stopped¨ by your opponent actually looks like: Saying that Vitali got stopped by Lennox is like saying Margarito got stopped by Cotto in the rematch. In the last round, Cotto was backing down and starting to run like a bitch from the relentless pressure of Margo, Margo was coming on strong when the biased doctor in the biased rican venue decided it was a good idea to stop the match, much to the satisfaction of ricans and Margo haters everywhere. So Cotto didn't stop Margo in the rematch, the doctor did just like Lennox didn't stop Vitali, the doctor did Lennox didn't stop Vitali He just won the lottery of cuts, and ran away with his lucky victory that he knew wouldn't happen a 2nd time, in a coward but clever move, no doubt. |

Have you ever heard of causation?
I scored a brace last week. The ref awarded the goals. By your logic he scored them. Jesus wept. Lennox Lewis @LennoxLewis #FYI: I didn't want my last fight stopped either. I was taking over and felt VK getting weaker. Just needed 1-2 more rounds. |
