Petro is the fight I'd love to see, strangly they've never met before. Conventional logic says JWP would be the underdog even under FTRs given his age etc, but don't bet against him. Buakaw and JWP have already met twice many years ago under K1 & FTRs, but could still be intersesting as both are in thier later stages, although I reckon it could only happen under the Thai Fight banner. I haven't seen that much of Kyrshenko recently so not sure where he is fightwise although when I last saw him on the Madrid K1 bill he looked an absolute giant at the weight.

The fight that'd really tell us what JWP had left and the fight he'd maybe want to finish on win or lose considering his close ties to Thailand has got to be Aikpracha Meenayothin the current Thai bad bowy in and around 70-72 kgs. That could be carnage although I can't really see JWP winning, but he'd sure make it one to remember.

JWP is not an overly active kicker per se but he does let loose on occasion. His experience in boxing shows in his Thai style. One of JWP's fortes is staying in the pocket and just slipping those kicks to get his knees and punches in.

Spot on PIRA, and for the benefit of those that didn't know, JWP won a few boxing titles in a relatively short career, including the Australian middleweight belt. He strung together a 10-3 boxing record. Winning all 10 by stoppage, and about half of them in the 1st round.

And was absolutely robbed of the title against Stenton on a Fenech promotion which led to him coming bacl to MT.

BTW guys JWP told me himself on twitter a while back that he cant make 70 kg anymore, so there is that. No Buakaw, Petrosyan, etc.

MT's not like boxing, JWP can still have an important impact on the international scene outside Thailand. He only retired less than a year ago, some boxers and MMA fighters have longer "breaks' than that & besides the break probably gave him some clarity and I image he saw he still had some loose ends to tidy up, not to mention the ever present need for dough.

He's always lived the life, lived clean & knows the game inside out. If JWP still thinks he's got enough left, who are we to question his motives?
