Default If Harry Greb had never been born?

Lets eliminate Harry Greb from the timeline.

Who would we be naming as the best fighters in the middleweight and light heavyweight divisions over this period?

What effect would his absence have had on the middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions?

Which fighter from that era would have captured the Greb supporters imaginations the most?

I think we already know the answer to this, as it was not an hypothesis.

I honestly think the question is wide open.

Nobody else stands out either at middleweight or light heavyweight, because Greb beat them all.

It would take a computer to decipher who has the best record vs the rest in either of those divisions, without Greb's input.

Tommy Gibbons stands out at LHW more. At MW I'm not sure how O'Dowd/Wilson do. Maybe Walker overcomes a weak MW champ and looks more dominant and greater than he was

I'm not sure if Kid Norfolk becomes stronger or weaker by his lack of a Greb around, I think weaker as the other white fighters probably don't fight him. Loughran too probably benefits from historically sharing a ring

Tiger Flowers isn't remembered as fondly, even if he was robbed against Walker

Unless he learnt and got allot better from that defeat. Maybe a Tunney without the Greb experience loses to Dempsey

Also who does Tunney establish himself against? He needs a new top tier dance partner

The Dempsey fight establishes tunney, regardless of who he beat previously.

We'd be without the pipe-dream of someday finding some lost footage of him in someone's basement.

Gene Tunney might have never beaten Dempsey. The experience must have been invaluable.

Without the Greb wins does Tunney get the Dempsey fight?
