if youve got a great chin, and world class power, all you really need is experience and fitness. that goes only for the cruisers and heavies though.
then a retarded newbie (whos alt i wonder? whipsy?) said......;

later on i wondered at how outrageous my statement was. who DID make a career out of a solid chin, good power and little else?

so i thought about international fighters. chuck wepner is obvious. locally jeff harding comes to mind. but in reality, its not rare for fighters to have great careers with just a solid chin, power and fitness. joe frazier is another. a great left hook, chin, power, fitness and nothing else.

who else, both domestically and internationally falls into this category?

Frazier also had great head movement, could cut the distance extremely fast for a heavyweight to get himself in range, fought off and punched from different angles, was a great ring general and could dictate the pace of a fight, was a great body puncher as well as a one of the greatest pressure fighters.

Fenech was a walk up, blaze away, non-boxer - who also fits your profile.

Your fat mate that fought Kimbo even with improved fitness should never be compared with the likes of Jeff Harding.

You're comparing Shane Tilyard to Joe Frazier now? Ugh. Do you even know what boxing is, bro?

In the original thread, he was saying that all Tilyard needed to do was lose some weight, and he could dominate.

Then he goes on to say that Joe ****ing Frazier did it, so its not that hard. Could you imagine what would happen if Tilyard lost the weight, then jumped in the ring with Mormeck? I dont really think he understands the concept of athletic competition, particularily with regards to combat sports....

Frazier also had excellent head activity, could cut the variety fast for a high quality to get himself in variety, battled off and hit from different perspectives, was an excellent band common and could determine the speed of a battle, was an excellent body puncher as well as a one of the biggest stress competitors.

Also his will to win against Ali was extraordinary, his ability to get inside or land his left hook. Modern day Jack Dempsey.

My picks George Foreman,Max Bear,Jess Willard

George Chuvalo. Probable the best chin of any heavyweight in the last 50 years.
