Geale will fight his mandatory first, win, then maybe another optional against Mundane or Quaalude Cooper, or Green or some other clown with a name and little chance of winning.

Once he's got a comfortable superannuation set up, He can chase the big guns. I don't blame him for seeking money fights first, Golovkin and Martinez are very high risk fights compared to great low risk earners like the other night.

Garth Wood probably has first call on a decider

He KOed Mundine early in their first meeting and was far more competitive in their second than Mundine was against Geale the other night.

Bring on Wood vs Mundine III

He isn't satisfied with 1-1, huh?

Fair play. TKO this time?

...but please, settle business with the other champs first. (and if you lose, so what, hold your head up high for the nice run and come back for a big money domestic gate to reward yourself in the rubber)

boys boys boys.
The sooner you all wake up and realise this game is all about money and not legacy anymore the easier it will be to understand.
geale gets $1 or 1.5 mil max for martinez or sturm rematch or less for macklin
stay in camden with your wife and kids and fans and try to beat mundine for a 3rd deciding bout and get say $1.5 or 2 mil with less risk.
what do you think he does

Fights Strurm or Martinez because he isn't a big ***** like mundine, and actually likes challenges. Just because Mundine shits his pants at the prospect of taking on world ranked fighters and thinks only about money doesn't mean everyone does. Geale actually wants a to be the best and unlike the shit stain you support, he is willing to fight anyone to do it.

Still, you really have to wonder how the promoters would have, if they even tried, to put a positive spin on that Mundine-Soliman matchup (if they'd beaten Geale and Sturm respectivly in their eliminators).

Once- yeah okay, even though watching Soliman is painful at the best of times; twice was bad enough, thrice was retch-worthy.

I almost would have liked to have seen another Mundine-Soliman bout just to get my perverse kicks of seeing promoters, broadcasters and complicit media talk about how meaningful the bout is....much credibility would have been lost trying to jusutify that travesty!!

In the same vein re. Geale-Mundine, some performances are such that rematches just aren't necessary/interisting. Especially not for an immediate back-to-back rematch. That was justified after the first fight to provide a conclusive result, but other than those viewers hoping for Mundine being KTFO who is going to be interested after seeing Geale - Mundine II.

Grange would be smarter to leave Mundine on ice, as Mundine's mouth will keep him in the headlines for a little while longer, and chase the US market. Geale hasn't made much of an impression in the US, as GGG, Martinez and JC.Ch are all the talk there. He needs to change that.

If he gets beaten building his profile in the US or attempting a unification, he can always pull back a level or two and fight a local opponent. That'd be Mundine, who by then should be coming of a couple of wins over easy imports/opponents...

The sales-pitch can then be made for Geale-Mundine III that a) Geale's coming of a loss or v/tough fight overseas; b) Mundine's coming off a local win or two; c) a decider is needed because Mundine claims he was robbed in their rematch.

For Geale (even if coming off a loss) Mundine by that stage (late 2013-2014) would have less than he did a couple of nights ago, and so pose less of threat. So I'd definitely keep Choc on ice if I was Grange and not rule out a third fight...you never know when you need a high profile, good profit but soft opponent, especially when your chasing the division's best.

People keep forgetting that Geale doesn't get to choose his fights. His management does. Expect more Aussie fighters fighting Geale for big $'s. I want him to fight GGG, but it won't happen til next year some time.

Exactly spot on!

The third fight with mundine still has an appeal to the mainstream boxing fans and it will make money again!

He will do it and he will pocket another 1-2 million dollars without any big drama! Geale needs to make $$$ as fast as he can and he can do it with likes of mundine, so wy not?
