I'm not that impressed with Rigo. Donaire is a HUGE step up for him if it happens. Everyone can look against medicore opponents.
Did you know Marroquin out weighted GR but a least 8 pounds that night, and that "WHO" Marroquin can bang with either hand and was a very good amateur and have a bright future in the pro ranks? Another thing is that GR was dragged by his trainer out of his bedroom because he was piss off with all the legal problem that he had, he didn't want to fight that night, he was bored to death and still won almost every round... Do your homework.

I think it's better to wait and see if this fight will go through as we all know how boxing is. If it happens though, I have to go with Rigondeaux by UD or late TKO.

They fought in the Pan Amateur games in 2003, 17 year old Mares vs 22 year old Rigondeaux both have went on to improve since then.

I don't think their amateur fight means much now, although saying that I do favour Rigondeaux, it could go the other way.

Best excuse for having knees buckled when trying to be offensive minded I've EVER heard. Keep em coming.

Nice observation B! I'm still riding with Nonito in this one. They will exchange at some point and I think Donaire's heavier stuff will take it's toll.

What make you think I'm excusing anything, did you read the post? Marroquin "CAN BANG WITH EITHER HAND" so getting wobbled by a fighter like him is not much of a big deal, beside I like the way he respond, he went after him immediately it seems that he wasn't that hurt like some are making it to be, and when you don't want to fight you can get caught.

But on the other hand, Donaire bangs harder with both hands than Marroquin.

So the possibility of Rigo getting taken out once he gets clipped is not outside the realm of possibility.

Like I said earlier. I don't see Rigo KO'ing Nonito. Rigo won't win a decision if he stays on his back foot and counters all night regardless of how effective he is at it. Judging is just not favoring that most of the time. And what happened when he tried to go offensive in his last fight?

Donaire will lose eventually, but to a fighter who is physically bigger than Rigo.

Top quality post BBall.

Nonito could take any 122 fighter that agreed, what I'm pointing out is that particular fight, first Rigondeaux was upset with all the legal things that went on and on, second the fight was cancelled and back on again only three days before the fight and on top that, he was to appear on a Miami court that wednesday 72 hours before fight time, like I said he wasn't happy and want it cancel, his trainer drag him out of his bedroom for the fight, do you think that when he fight Nonito he will see the same Rigondeaux that Marroquin saw and under the same circumstance?

Maybe he should have gone to Vegas with Gamboa and they could have hid under Floyd's bed together.

Always been a big fan of Rigo but I think his (too) passive style and low punch output is gonna cost him the fight.
Donaire's gonna make him throw more than usual, tireing Rigo down the stretch and eventually busting him up.

Rigo is a joy to watch for me and I will be rooting for him though.

He wasn't trying to be offensive minded. Marroquin stepped on his foot while Rigo pulled back.

It's arguable that he even won that round, and he was dropped twice and outclassed the entire fight.
