German network RTL has approved the Italian-German Francesco Pianeta for the HW champion's next opponent. Yeah this guys' record is complete shit, but he is a southpaw and he's physically just as big as Wladimir - that makes this matchup somewhat interesting. Apparently Solis was considered, but his promotional issues killed the bout.
So if Wlad ends up dominating Pianeta (28-0-1), then Povetkin (25-0) in the late summer and maybe somebody like Fury (20-0) at the end of the year, that's a pretty good 2013 for the champ. Then consider that Vitali will be retired by year's end and that opens up a unification match with Arreola (who will be handed the WBC belt by Jose Suliaman) next year. Then you got guys like Price, Wilder, Jennings and Pulev coming up who will be ready to challenge in 2014. |

Fury just said he wouldn't fight a Klychko for 10 million. Pulev is the most likely guy. If we get Povetkin then Pulev this year i'll be very happy. Wach and Pianeta as back to back voluntaries is sad though, blame belongs with the pussy contenders.

Yeah, it's pretty shitty. But I'm trying to find some silver lining here. Pianeta is:
- 6'5", 240 pounds (no blown up cruiserweight) - young and in his physical prime (no shot old guy) - active, he fought 4 times in 2012 - a southpaw (more difficult style for the champ) - a known name in Germany, makes the fight bigger there I know, I'm reaching here. But like I said, trying to find a silver lining. |

Fury will price himself out (which is really like saying he doesn't want the fight), Solis and his promotional team will make negotiations impossible (which is really like saying they don't want the fight) and everybody else just isn't ready yet (Price, Jennings, Wilder). That leaves Pulev, who's as ready as he'll ever be and apparently willing to take the challenge. |

Fighting MORE OF these guys while holding all the belts is complete joke. He would be lucky to get a fight on the undercard.
Haye who has nothing wouldn't fight this guy in a million years. Deontay Wilder could fight him and he'd still be ridiculed for not stepping up. |
