Default Fitzsimmons v Klitchsko 3 Falls

I am interested in who people thinks wins this one. Wlad is transported in a time machine to fitz time for an era vs era match, but the governor will only allow a 3 fall wrestling match. At least one of them is greco roman.

Wlad has clearly got all the physical tools, is much bigger and stronger. But, he is completely untrained in the art. Fitz has trained and wrestled before. He was clearly skilled, though not necessarilly world championship level.

Does Wlad have a chance,or does his lack of training and skill means he must lose. Can Fitz win given the size and strength discrepancy.

And i suppose the third question, depending on how you see this match going, does this mean that fighter has the advantage in the clinch in an actual fight. (presumably whichever way you lean could be extended to most of the fighters from the respective eras).

wlad was getting thrown around by eddie chambers who trained with a mma guy for a few weeks on those throws to try to gain a psychological advantage. Old style rules (or for that matter, street fight) Fitz drops him on his head and ends it.

I think Wlad looks clueless in a clinch. (i actually wouldnt have minded seeing him against Ruiz, who i think would have a better than expected chance though i am sure i am in the minority). But realistically, would it be viable for such a little guy like Fitz and many otehr old timers to use these types of techniques against a giant like Wlad. Let us not forget that Eddie chambers was substantially bigger than Fitzsimmons and many from his era. I am not so sure any sort of Chambers example is relevant because of this.

Give me trained over untrained any day.

I'll take Wlad in a boxing match, though, and early.

Fitzsimmons would hit Wlad with the Sweet Chin Music and it'll be over

you'd be hard pressed to find a set of rules without the use of horseshoes, semi-automatic rifles or bears in which fitz beats wlad in a boxing ring

its a question about greco roman wrestling..honestly...160 pound high school wrestlers will beat many good 240 pound boxers in a wrestling match.

true but fitz was not a world class level wrestling and wlad, from my understanding, has significant cross discipline skills. he is not just a boxer and is physically at a ridiculous advantage

for example, kurt angle, olympic gold medalist, had trouble wrestling big show because of the size difference. that size difference is comparable to this one except fitz was not an olympic gold medalist

he had grappling skill as per the era but let's not big up his skills to an elite level; he could hold on to similar sized and slight bigger guys, toss them and fight in the clinch. WORLD of difference between that and grappling as an art on it's own
