Hatton v Mayweather.

The promotion and build up was out of this world. The whole "working class slugger with a big heart" v "the slick black boxing master, undisputed and best in the world" resembled that of Rocky I which is why a lot of people took interest. It really was like something out of the movies.

Hatton vs Mayweather without a doubt.

Hatton vs Tsyzu made me take more notice of Boxing but then Hatton vs Mayweather made me a proper fan and I've been in love with the sport ever since. Just a truly amazing event.

Benn v Eubank 2
Tyson v Holyfield 1
Lewis v Holyfield 1

I remember those because there were loads of us watching and the build up was fantastic even though 2 of the 3 fights were not that great in the end 1 especially. As time has gone on a lot of my mates who would stay up all night have lost interest in the sport, they were more of your casual fan and as they got older and had kids etc staying up until 5am was just a no.

Witherspoon v Bruno was an early one I remember being really up for. Me and my dad listened to it on the radio.

I was beyond excited about Calzaghe-Kessler. Also Hamed-Barrera as I was crying out for someone to beat that cunt and MAB didn't let me down.

Hayemaker - Steelhammer

There were literally about 30 of us crammed into a room. It was all so tense and with Haye delaying his walk out, just made the build up even better. Just a massive event. I had a feeling that Haye might have actually KO'd Wlad. As the rounds went by I knew Wlad was to smart and disciplined to get KO'd. There were a few hairy moments for Wlad, although Haye was unable to land anything of real significance. The first 6 rounds were the most tense I've encountered tuning into a fight. The build-up for me was just brilliant (even if Haye was an ass)

Pacquiao - Cotto

I was really pumped for this fight. Cotto was a live dog and I felt he might have been able to impose himself on Pacquiao. I was impressed with how Pacquiao handled Cotto.

Mayweather - Hatton

Always supported Hatton and this was a big one for me. He is a top bloke with a big heart and I'd have loved to see him whoop Mayweather. I was brought back to reality after Mayweather sparked him. Mayweather is/was always on a different level to Hatton, but at the time I wasn't having anyone of it. I was convinced Hatton was going to do him! Great build-up and the fight was fairly entertaining. Hatton had his moments in there.

1: Hagler/Hearns: I was at the age where I could not comprehend how either could lose...

2: Eubank/BennII: I went, and even from my nose bleed seats at Old Trafford, I 'wet myself' in anticipation.

3: Bruno/Witherspoon: (I was there too) The ol' man told me, we were going to see Britain's first Heavyweight Champion this (20th) century...

Lewis - Holy I, the only fight that I've ever got an actual CROWD at a house to watch a fight that late. Funnily enough, the 2nd fight almost seemed damp compared to it, like everyone expected Lewis to get the points win he should have got in the first.

Exciting-wise, personally I'd go for:

Groves v DeGale
Naz v Kelly (and Naz v a few others)
Haye v Wlad
Eubank v Calzaghe
Calzaghe v Hopkins
Haye v Harrison

Clearly some of those fights turned out to be turkeys, but for whatever reason they are some of the ones here I've found myself at my most animated etc.
