Default Nkosinathi Joyi-Mario Rodriguez: Under-rated fight

Was looking for this fight, then forgot about it, but its online for anyone interested and who hasn't seen it already (see link below). I haven't heard too much about it on here but its a very good fight.

The fight is another dubs-up to those who disparage or are disinterested in the lower-weightclasses following on from Ioka-Yaegashi earlier in the year.

The two didn't take long to warm up and traded leather to the finish. Joyi was doing the better work for me but claimed the heat got to him. Rodriguez showed a good chin to walk through Joyi's long-limbed uppercuts.

Its a shame because apparently Joyi's team were looking at unification bouts, now he has to take three months out the ring according to South African boxing regulations.

Would have loved to have seen Joyi-Ioka. Ioka would have a tougher time with Nkosinathi than he would with Rodriguez as far as I'm concerned...

I see Rodriguez has been out of the ring since then. I was a bit beside myself when Joyi shook his head at the ref. The commentary made no sense to me. It was so glowing of Joyi and made an awful lot of everything he did, often didn't comment on Rodriguez's hard shots, until this happened and then they acted like "Yeah, you could see this coming. No surprise here." It's a helluva thing when a 14-6-4 guy comes in and makes an undefeated champion quit. Joyi has since bounced back with a little win for a lesser title. Anyone know if there is talk of a rematch? A very good fight.

Didn't mean to ignore the post 'Ears

Fight was a corker, Rodriguez looks to have earned a fight with Katsunari Takayama, a bit of a vet at the lowest weight, according to boxrec.

Would love to see Rodriguez-Fuentes, all Mexican brawl. Not sure what the Meixcan lower weight promotional situation is like though so not sure if that could come off...
