Thought I must say. While Mayweather has some good upper body size. That doesn't equal weight.

Mayweather might be a lot of things, but lazy isn't one of them.

I honestly believes he starts camp in better shape than a lot of others break camp. He's a gym rat.

It's not lazy. I just don't believe he enjoys cutting. And he knows with his skill he can fight at that weight very comfortably.

Duran did it, Armstrong did it, why not Floyd?
Floyd was a massive 4lbs heavier than Marquez on fight night.

In Armstrong and Duran used to weigh in on the day. Guys like Ortiz would have been a middleweight back then.

Although Floyd would be a welter either way, since he only comes into the rinf around 150.

Hes just a slightly built guy, thats just his genetics.

He is smaller than some 140lbs guys on fight night. Hatton came up from 140lbs and was heavier than Floyd in fightnight

When compared to big ww's (Margarito,Cintron,P.Williams,Clottey), Floyd seems small. But, imo, he's grown into the weight and ought to be considered a full-fledged 147 lber.

haha no way, i never knew that. I didn't think he had ever weighted in on on fight night. Im very surprised by that then, you would never guess there was 14lbs difference between them two.

It obviously works great for him. I can see the logic in focusing on fitness and technique rather than weight.

not lazy, just doesn't want to dehydrate or drain himself.

he wants to fight where he's comfortable which is basicly his walk around weight. he'd have alot more KO's if he wanted to stay @ 140 tho.

HBO unofficial scales had him at 150 lbs for the Ortiz fight, WBC 30 day weigh in had him at around 150 lbs I believe also.

He had a lot of same day weigh-ins before moving to welterweight. None ever showed him cutting much weight though.

Have you watched their fight? It was clear as night and day there was a large difference in weight. Floyd was hitting Ortiz with clean, straight right hands from the first round. The reason Ortiz could walk through those was because he was 2 weight classes above Floyd. It gave an illusory impression that Floyd has little power. But his power is fine for his size. It's just that he rarely fights someone his size.
