The only person that gets consistently brought up on ODLH is Wright for ducking, and since that is a completely bogus and easily debunked case, I really don't know.

The bloke fought Hopkins at MW. That says everything.

You might be able to garner some discussion on top ranked fighters that he missed! I don't think even Oscar's detractors believe that he avoided/ducked fighters. His willingness to fight the best is one of his better qualities.

Rematches.

But, really, nobody. Find it odd that some of his bigger fights didn't have sequels, but the business side of this sport sucks, and it gets worse when the fighter is at the table.

I've read a couple times he cherry picked and ducked some people. I've always felt dude fought everybody. Maybe at 130-135, he didn't fight the best there was, I dunno, I would have to check.

What about his time spent/career at 140lb?

Orzubek Nazarov for a unification bout at 135.

Not a duck as much as Nazarov being an unknown non-hispanic. I think his southpaw style and formidable power would have made it interesting while it lasted before Oscar figures and sparks him out.

Jose Luis Lopez at 147. That guy could crack and as evidenced by his fight vs Quartey, he also had a hell of a chin. It just wasn't an lucrative enough match-up and if memory serves, Oscar had already gone up to 154.

He didn't duck anyone. If he was going to get paid a bundle of money, which he usually did, he'd fight anyone. I agree with the poster who said the guy was willing to fight Hopkins, which says it all. A former junior lightweight willing to take on a guy who has been middleweight his whole career, a guy who was still winning on a consistent basis and only loss at middle was close to Jones, Jr.? That takes guts.

Oscar could have fought Lopez but Lopez ****ed himself up pretty bad outside the ring pretty much right after the Quartey bout.

What made me think of the idea for this thread is, in my opinion, someone like Floyd Mayweather Jr, who is repeatedly labeled a "ducker", and I got to thinking about fighters who took on whoever, whenever.

I am sure we would get more discussion on that...although it might get moved to general?

Either way good to see you posting again!
