Lonnie Bennett. If he was more durable/consistent he'd have been a real chore for pretty much anyone at Lt. Heavy. One of the best jabs in the division's history when he was on. Conteh had to go into bull mode to get the job done against him, because he was not hanging in the battle of jabs, which says a lot. Jesse Burnett was another. The B-Netts.

Derrick Jefferson was the record lottery, Flea. So many heavyweights were salivating over that guy. He was getting rather big with HBO, and every top 20 heavyweight on the planet was convinced that he was the rarest quality fight in the game: An easy and decisive but absurdly entertaining win.

We followed every fight, I'm pretty sure, hoping somebody else didn't get there first, which Izon did, in the typical Derrick Jefferson FOTY contender.

From about a generation earlier, slick Detroit boxer Lester Felton. Anyone who can take Kid Galavan the distance in a close bout immediatly prior to the famous Gavilan - Robinson bout probably needs some more recognition. Detroit's Bill Miller also spoke very highly of Felton, and since I think very highly of Miller...

Ted 'Tiger' Lowry- most famous for a hard-contested loss on points to an upcoming Rocky Marciano, although also fought (and lost to) Moore, Walcott and sparred with Louis.

And one from left field, or the left side of the US...the handy Light Middleweight, Kenny 'the Emerald City Assassin' Ellis. I boxrec'd just before posting and was fairly suprised to see he's kind of active...as a 175lber!
