Claiming they were offered the Price fight yesterday for peanuts. Anyone reckon this is just Maloney putting out feelers in case Thompson is injured?

Yes, Maloney has confirmed he offered them slots as back ups.
Thompson arrives in Liverpool today so all seems well in that regard and the fight should be on. |

Peanuts is all they deserve really, what has Towers done to warrant a payday against Price?Sure Price is only now really stepping it up but Towers never will, spars with Wlad and now thinks he's the dogs bollocks, might be a bit harsh but he is not a force among the other prospects.

Browne is going to be massive and Towers seems to be the forgotten man of British boxing. They were supposed to fight an eliminator for Price's Commonwealth title late last year, but Towers was injured...

Why is Peanuts all Towers deserves?
He's unbeaten (admittedly slightly fortunately), working hard and hoping to work his way into a decent position when he's ready (which he currently acknowledges he is not!) Why should he save Maloney's show (if there is something wrong withTT), throw his hard work out the window, fight on short notice for a fight he would be a huge underdog... all for peanuts? |
