I remember thinking the same thing when Trevor Berbick lost the close fight to Tyson.

If only he'd bobbed and weaved, history would've been so different.

If Bute fought up to 1/5th of the level of Patterson, he wouldn't have a head on that neck.

Floyd Patterson was an unbelieveably offensively skilled fighter.

Can you imagine what would've happened to Bute if he fought punchers like Liston and Johansson?

COME ON MAN........ come on...
Of course, there are plenty of boxers in history who had HOF careers despite having fragile mandibles. Patterson was a lineal champ and fought the best from almost the start of his career. His chin wasn't as strong as his courage though.
But no, Bute and Patterson are not even close in terms of legacy.

All nuthuggers are annoying...

Not sure why you spend you life in Bute's threads if these people annoy you so much...

Being buddy with Foreal tard doesn't help you credibility either...

Where's the bit where he crumbled as soon as he tasted a bit of Froch's power?

Well, JuanMa has a slight build,(Bute is taller than Froch) but both these guys got the same rap (Salido). Different approach, same outcome. Not to say he couldn't do it (he likes to set traps) It's worse for Bute because he has a more experienced resume to be discarded by some people.
