I see what you're saying, I think Adamek is mainly talking about him like that just out of anger and dislike, more then anything else, as Szpilka has a big mouth and has on multiple occasions talked bullshit about Adamek. Adamek has never spoken poorly of his opposition and always given the people he fights due respect. Not Szpilka, though. In order to be respected, you have to give others respect. This is something Szpilka knows nothing about. |

Szpilka will fight 20 April in Poland, his opponent will be either Travis Walker, Nagy Aguilera or Tor Hammer. Szpilka has sparred with Walker before, said he doesn't really want to face him because he poses no threat to him
personally, I see him facing Aguilera, a tough offense-minded fighter with a decent chin, since he's already sparred with Walker, and Hammer's stock has fallen dramatically since he quit against Glazkov |

Szpilka vs. Walker would be a good fight!
Walker did not fight 100 % in the sparring and Szpilka told him, how good he was. When Walker fought against Adamek, Szpilka talked bad about Walker .. Walker heard of it and was upset and dissappointed about those words. He showed a good fight against Adamek and knocked him down, this greedy, drunken hit and runner .. He would prepare himself against Szpila and go into the ring in his best shape since years. |

Let's get it straight: Szpilka criticized Adamek for selecting Walker before the fight, based on his sparring with him, then praised Walker for his performance against Adamek. Facing Walker would be a good barometer of where Szpilka is in his development, especially defensively. If he can impress and not get into trouble like Adamek, he would demonstrate that the defensive lapses during the Mollo fight were a fluke or that he has learned and improved. He can also use Walker to get more exposure in the US. This could be a very solid return for him on ESPN, after the last exciting fight and maybe this time they can put him on regular tv. Its a good fight for him imho and as with all good fights, there is a significant risk. |

Szpilka is over-hyped, and at this point over-rated. He has good athleticism but has ways to go as far as his boxing skills. He has had a good few fights now where he had a tougher road then he should have, the latest being against Mollo..

After the April fight in Poland, there's a good chance Szpilka and Mollo will fight again in August on ESPN at the Chicago White Socks stadium.

Part of this is because they are bringing him up pretty rapidly for a guy with shallow amateur experience, so he has to learn on the fly and make mistakes while many eyeballs are on him. They are bringing him up fast to feed the hype.

Wasn't he like 97-3 as an amateur? Hardly qualifies as shallow. |

according to Szpilka's camp, his opponent for 20 April will be named soon, from what he says, Rahman, Liakhovic, Hamer and Collins did not agree to fight Szpilka

He might be over exposed but not by that much. Still, its his and his own promoter's job, to make him known and they're taking advantage of the hunger people have to see some exciting, offensive HWs in the division. He's been taking on pretty solid comp at this early stage of his career too , so you can't fault him there. As far as skills, we can all see the strengths and weaknesses.
