He definitely has the potential, for me his bigest adventage other then his good physical shape is his mentality. Looks like he is very strong mentaly plus his trainer says that works hard and is very dedicated for boxing.

PS: his story is quite similar to tyson, "boxing saved him from the street"

Next szpilka fights:
- Brian Minto
- Mike Mollo
(revenge, in first fight szpilka won by KO)

I bet in next 2/3 years he will be in top 5.

I'm excited for Szpilka's career.... He's definitely my favorite up-n-coming heavyweight. I saw that Mollo fight live. Best KO I've seen in person. This Minto fight will be awesome. 2 good styles that love to exchange punches. I don't like the Mollo fight again because it doesn't advance him any further. Mollo just complained and bitched about the ref so he can get another rematch. He fights super dirty so thats what makes this fight fun. I'll be watching that fight in Chicago again live for sure!

Ordinaroly I would agree about a rematch at this stage but another go around with Mollo does not bother me. Mollo did give him problems that will need to be addressed. Rest assured Mollo will fight exactly the same way again and if Sxpilka can adjust and win much easier it will tell me something about his learning curve and potential upside.

If Szpilka once again pulls straight back from punches and gets visibly shaken I would not hold much hope for him at the divisions elite level. This upcoming Minto fight could present many of the same issues for him.

On a side note; What type of city is Bydgoscz? How is the living standard compared to the rest of Poland? Someone told me it was a rough, blue collar town with many factories but that person had not been their in a long time and may be off base.

I have never been in Bydgoszcz before but I think living standard is decent, I can't agree that this is rough town with many factories. Below I attached photo from bydgoszcz (found in net).

Seems, Povetkin and the Russian fans and this whole Slavic pagan show agains Wawrzyk impressed Szpilka a lot. He really changed his attitude and is hungry.

For me the best HW prospect, young and good rivals.

This is a good point. Szpilka never faced someone that wasn't scared of him (besides McCline because he's a beast) Szpilka needed to fight with someone that gave him everything, someone that fights like a dog in the ring. That is Mollo. He leads with his head and throws crazy punches - sometimes its successful. Szpilka certainly didn't expect that. He paid the price and got hit. Best part is he got up and finished the job. Mollo claims it was blood in his eyes..... we'll see what happens now that Szpilka knows exactly how he fights. Minto is a perfect opponent for a match before Mollo.
