What type of lift are you claiming Geale was missing?

Looked a tad gaunt at the weigh in. Weight drained OR trouble making weight? Surely not.....

Go check your photos again mate, he looks more ripped in the Mundine weigh in. U guys have got to stop making excuses up for Geale, the better man won the fight, plain and simple.

He was just not good enough on the night. It happens. hopefully if they rematch in England he will do better. On the bright side the Americans enjoyed
the fight it seems so it may open the door for a few fights there for Gealey.

good on him for stepping up, no excuses, Barker was better on the night, more credit to losing a fight like that than winning a nothing fight.

He didn't step it up, Barker was coming off a 14 month layoff and had only fought twice since said layoff.

Yeah Barker looked good in his 2 previous fights against Hope and Rotolo after being off for 14 months after being badly bashed by thugs trying to help a guy out. Geale was a step up in class from those 2 but Barker did well. Even with all that and his brother dieing Barker prevailed. Would rather Geale lose to him than someone like Mundine. Hope theirs a rematch.

Reminds me of when Buster Douglas got up and beat Tyson, inspired by his mothers passing, during the interview he almost broke down. No doubt two complete different fights but a similarity can be drawn on rising to the occasion inspired by a recently loss in life close to ones heart. Geale cant beat Barker in UK imo, the odds will be stacked against Geale big time in the UK. Whilst some will point out his victory's in Germany, Germany is nothing like a booze fueled UK home town advantage & Barker will be super confident this time round.

I'd be confident too if i were Barker, TC. It's a winnable fight, no doubt. Geale would be confident too, cause its a winnable fight. It's a 'pick 'em' fight again. I know you see differently but I say it'll be a carbon copy of the first. Hell, I had Geale winning the first...just. Thing is due to the action, heart and willingness to fight by both fighters the rematch is worth dough to Barker. So that's a good thing for the fans. Hell, I witnessed Joe Calzaghe almost '***** slap' Jeff Lacy to death and the crowd were frothing at the mouth. These two transferred their weight, planted their feet and threw good punches. Imagine a packed O2 Arena......

Id like to see a rematch, it would be a good fight but i think Barker will edge it in alot closer this time round due to the home town advantage.

Barkers loss was not recent it was years ago, though obvious
y it motivated him, from memory it was over a decade ago. Barker getting assaulted by a gang was also some years ago. As to a rematch, Beale showed his hand and it wasn't enough.

Barker done the damage and he'd do it again. He's just better.

The only chance for Geale in a rematch would be if Barker fought the fight of his life first time and is never the same again....you know, he 'peaked' for this one fight.
Remember that was NOT 'typical' stuff from Darren Barker. For much of his career he has been very very ordinary. Overal of the two Geale has been much more consistently 'good'.

If we really have a guy who has reinvented himself though, then he should win rematch easily enough. I personally feel that Barker made hard work of it for himself, had to fight Geales fight, chase the fight etc cos he was challenger etc etc. (Although I had Barker up by 3).
Think Barker would probably box better, be cooler, use his jab more and just overall be more composed and more effective second time around.
Plus HE will be the champ this time.
Plus Geale unlikely to get another 10-8 round in the rematch.
So yeah, overall not looking good for Geale getting the title back.
