...with no outward plans of ever moving up, right?

I actually respect that a lot, even though a part of me feels he could make some noise at HW and outbox some of the big plodders clogging up the rankings.

It tells me he doesn't want to be a money-chaser like Adamek and JC Gomez became (or like Chambers was his entire career until recently) and is willing to endure the lower paydays to compete with guys his own size and potentially dominate. I think he is going for legacy and will attempt to unify all the world titles one by one...otherwise it would make a lot more financial sense to compete at heavy.

No he does Usyk plans to move up to HW in 2 or 3 years. It's smart to adjust to 12 round fights against guys your own size so i like it.

I just checked out Usyk and was impressed with how tough he was,,, haven't seen too much of him yet,,, what impressed me was his ability to through accurate punches in action packed exchanges,,,i watched him on slow a few times, lol,

Oleksandr Usyk will fight Epifanio Mendoza on Dec. 14.

Good opponent for 2nd pro fight.

Very impressive.

It'll be interesting to see how he looks against a guy who fought Ortiz, Chakhiev & Mansour in the last two years
