Would the police allow two major events in Manchester on the same night? I'm guessing it'll be the Emirates. What are transport links like by road for the Emirates?
Different parts of the city, could always get extra staff from other forces

Even if the authorities allowed this (which I think unlikely), I cannot see promoters footing the bill for the extra staff...

I think your on the money with that comment.

Froch and Groves are virtual unknowns to your man in the street, whereas the likes of Calzaghe and Hatton attracted attention from casuals and football fans.
"the biggest fight in British Boxing history" my arse.

in the good old days the Top Contenders fighting each other and top fighters on the fringe even, garnered great attention. they will have to think about hundreds of top liners who fans loved and followed and KNEW about before they think they are all that matter in boxing!

Talk to a casual sports fan and I can almost guarantee they will be looking forward to the rematch.

You underestimate the power of social media.

If this fight fills a stadium with 80000 people, i'll paraglide bare arsed into the ring before the main event.

I definitely think 80,000 is a big stretch of the imagination. I reckon it could fill Stamford bridge or somewhere of a similar size though.

That's probably more down to there being bugger all boxing on free channels (I'm not counting the ones on channel 5 coming live from a tesco extra)

I would have thought old trafford as manchester is the fight capital of Britain & there is a hugh stadium vacent there which could hold about 80k inc floor/pitch seating.
Another question is will it start at regular uk time like the first one did or will that be put back a few hours because the usa tv networks want in on it?

Hearn has just tweeted this...

@EddieHearn: Taking my Grandad (lifelong gooner) to the Emirates today to check out the stadium - looking forward to it! #frochgrovesII

Looks like it could be the emirates, maybe he's just teasing

It's between old Trafford and the Emirates is it not?

He'll be checking both out at some point Id think.

Us tv didn't want the first fight, no reason to believe they will want the second.
