Default Infighting w/ a Southpaw

Anyone have any tricks or tips for fighting a Southpaw on the inside? Infighting is not my strength. I usually try a quick two punch combo then get out. I usually fight orthodox guys, and I almost ALWAYS do this: With my left glove pinned to my left temple, I fire a quick right hook while pivoting right. Then I sit down on a hard, short right hand. I vary this combo by mixing it to the body then I jab out to get space.

But this will present problems with a Southpaw.

prefer not to stay inside, since my coach stays I go into a shell and wait too long too counter. I'm better using space and angles using my feet.

Thanks.

A southpaw loses his advantage- odd angles- when you make him fight inside. Jake LaMotta said as much; in close, it is all the same. Be assertive. Push him back and bang him. You can see his left hand and your left shoulder makes his right hand irrelevant.

Gotcha. The key is not getting squared up on the inside... which my coach HATES. I go into that high-guard shell waiting to counter and I ALWAYS still too long, and I react instead of acting.

I guess that fault is true for southpaws or orthodox.

BOLO RIGHT UPPERCUTS TO THE BODY!!!!!

Seriously. That and hold their right arm. Watch Calzaghe and Lacy and just pretend Calzaghe is a righty and Lacy is a lefty. That fight is a masterclass in infighting an opposite stance fighter.

Personally, I try to make them step back with their right foot. I want them as square to me as possible, and most of my infighting strategy is to push'punch/shoulder/wrestle the other person back while staying right on top of them. If they hit you back, it doesn't have the same effect as it would if they were on-balance.

Money combo is Engage-right uppercut to the body-weave left-HARDEST LEFT HOOK YOU EVER THREW to the head.

Watch the Lomanchenko vs Salido fight and you will get some tips on how to bully on the inside.
