Default what should i expect in the amateurs?

alright, so im 19 turning 20 in november, i want to start training so i can compete in the amateurs soon and i wanna know what to expect. i smoke weed, but it hasn't messed with my stamina or anything like that so far. i've sparred plenty of times and i've been stunned once, u know the symbols and visuals u see when u close ur eyes and put pressure on them, yes i saw that sht after i got hit, now i understand what people mean when they say "seeing stars". is the amateurs hard? is it anything like sparring? how do i control my nerves? how do i control my anger? i normally get headaches when i get hit too hard, is there any way to control that? someone help me please!!!!

gain experience as much as possible stay active and consistent. stop the weed now. head aches maybe something you get used to being more in the ring. the nerves and the anger you start relaxing in time and become second nature in the ring. BREATH cus you tend to tense up and stop breathing without knowing. hope that helps a bit. good luck and be open to learn the basics.

Weed will cure the "stars". Less head movement, more weed.

Expect wild fighters. When you first start a lot of the fighters come out windmilling. Very fast pace.

In amateurs it's definitely a lot of punching and scoring points. Sometimes the judges who score the fights aren't that good at judging so you need to win convincingly.

A lot of guys throw lots of haymakers and come out wild in the first round and sometimes the nerves and the anxiety get to you and you forget about the techniques and end up brawling too. It takes a while to get used to fighting if you get nervous or anxious before fights (which happens to me unfortunately).

Best thing for amateur fights is to basically keep your hands up and having a good stamina will save you the fight. Seriously having a good stamina can win fights, because amateur is mostly scoring points and punching a lot. And if you can keep up punching a lot even if other guy is better than you, you might be able to win if the other guy gets tired. Good luck.

Stop the weed or fix the reason for you smoking weed. AND MOVE YOUR HEAD MAN MAKE THEM PAY FOR THROWING SLOPPY PUNCHES

Right! Kiniumi years ago I worked with Dwight Braxton later known as Dwight Muhammad Qawi. What we taught him was to get inside and too keep his head of the line. Head movement on the inside will allow you to score shots to the head and body whilst standing in front of your opponent mike Tyson was a master of this technique.
