Johnson wins when he takes Baer and drowns him in about the 20th round. If it last that long. Johnson may have a shakey start, but the longer the bout goes, the more chances it favor's Johnson.

Can't remember who it was but I recall a story about someone who sparred with an old old Johnson and also a young prime Baer and he said that Baer would struggle to even land a a decent punch on a prime Johnson in his opinion

Johnson, was to cautious for Baer and would just wait for Baer to get tired late ko, Baers punches were too wild and obvious so Johnson could see them coming easier, id give somebody like Louis with short straight quick punches a better chance

I mean I would definitely pick JJ in his prime in this fight but Baer always has a chance with that pulverising right hand he possessed. JJ was a machine though and could fight all day if he had to. In his prime I think he is too much for Maxy.

Prime Johnson, whenever the hell that was, would operate around Baer like the fighter everyone claims him to be.
One out of 8 times Baer lands the punch that changes and ultimately ends the fight. |
