Russian cruiser weight Grigory Drozd(26-1) will square off against decent African journeyman Jean Bikoi (14-5) on the undercard of Universum's female freak show in Germany tonight.
Bikoi went the full route with cruiser weight's gatekeeper Ismael Abdoul,Sauerland's huge Cuban talent Hernandez, and Vincenzo Cantatore. A good test for Drozd who needs such a fight before taking on better known and skilled opponents.Drozd is one of the most promising fighters at cruisers, and I for my part think that he can make some noise in his weight division. At present he is out of the radar of most box experts and fans due to his suprising loss to Firat Arslan who will soon fight for a world title. Drozd lost by tko to a fighter who cant hold a candle to him in terms of skills as could be seen in their encounter. However,Arslan brutally exposed Drozd's weak spots Drozd relied too much on his firepower in that fight thinking that he could bomb Arslan out of the ring, but he forgot that Arslan has one of the best chins in the business, and that overpacing against an foe with such a good stamina and such a high workrate is a deathly mistake. Drozd paid for his arrogance against Arslan.I am quite sure that Drozd will be able to defeat Arslan in a rematch. I very much hope that a rematch comes off.Anyway! Now Drozd stands in line and has to wait for his shot at a mayor title again. Russian heavy weight talent Vladimir Tereshkin will also appear on the undercard as well as German Russian amateur star Vitaly Tajbert. |
