Just on Quarry against the champions of the thirties while they were champions. I think Schmeling beats him. Sharkey in 1933 is his big chance. He could win this. I don't see him handling Carnera over 15 while Carnera was champion. Baer wins if he takes Quarry seriously. Braddock I think outguts him.

Neither Carnera nor Braddock was lucky to be fighting for the title on the day they did. They earned it by beating the top contenders.

Neither of them was in any way lucky to win the fight where they won the title. Prety clear cut.

Where they were lucky is in that they both won the title from champions who were much better than them and for various reasons did not perform on the day.

Madden would have chewed him up and spat him out.

Quarry would have ended up with nothing.

Quarry was a solid fighter but he would have had a tough time in that era as well. Sharkey,Baer,Schmeling were better all around, Quarry may have been a little too strong for Braddock but no sure bets, I think he had a solid chin and power but did not have enough to hold down a title in that era
