the refereeing was terribe in that de gale fight. that cuban was not trying to box.
amateur boxing really has gone down the drain since the early 1990's

Degale wasn't helping matters either. A few times he just walked into the Cuban with his arms in the air.

I agree, he was walking forward (some of the time) - its not like he was trying to pull away - or being pulled forward.

i think his tactic was to get degale to lose some points through warnings. so he walked in and started to pull away violntly to make the ref go "oh it's degale who is holding"

the biting was the worst part for it. that is the worst ever ever way of fouls. lowblows can be used tactically and so can headbutts and shoulders...it;s acceptable for a poiunt. we dont mind hopkins doing his 123 combo right hand, left hook, right shoulder

i was really disapointed with banteux, he did a very dishonrablke move that would disrespect his fathers olympic triumph

Biting should have no place in boxing. It's not like holding, headbutting and low lows which can sometimes be accidental. You shouldn't simply lose a point or two for biting. It has to be instant disqualification.

I agree 100%.
The ref was a joke. And so were the crowd when they booed James at the medal ceremony.

Yes they did. I can only imagine that they thought the cuban shoud have won. But in reality he was holding too much and he bit James which IMO he should have been dq'd for.

Fair go about the biting.
I mean, if you guys didn't have so malnourished teeth and were capable of taking a chunk out of something more solid than fairy bread, then it'd be right up your alley to go around biting opposition.
