Well, in my opinion, it's more important to have the right manager than trainer. So Charley Burley + a manager who gives a f*** = world WW and MW champ.
But as far as training goes you got to look to the troubled guys + a mentor. So Ike Ibeabuchi + Kevin Rooney = World champ, for example. I remember having a prolonged daydream in the post office about what would have happened if Cus D'Amato had discovered Liston instead of Patterson. He came to the title in 1961 and Frazier took it from him, I think. |
