Chris Pyatt

I never saw this Brit 154-160 pounder fight--he came around near the time of Eubank-Benn Watson but seems to have fallen by the wayside of these three fighters---?What was his style and did he have the potential to be any good--who were his best fights with and was there a reason he did not develop into a better fighter?

well i know he has a boxing gym in leicester called C.P'S GYM

he was shaping up quite nicely but was then sparked by steve collins.went into decline after that.

No shaky chin. He ran into Gianfranco Rosi and John David Jackson at light-middle and was outpointed, and stopped on his feet by Collins at middle.
Good left-hooker; a particularly good amateur, winning Commonwealth gold in 1982.

bit unlucky on the stoppage against collins i think.

the kalambay result was his best.

I always think Pyatt was better at 154lbs. His victories over Prince Rodney and van Elteren and then later on in his career the close win over an underrated Kelly were his most impressive IMO.

Kalambay was a bigger name, but Sambu was way past his sell by date...

The Jackson fight was very one sided, Pyatt could never figure out the cute American.

i agree kalambay was on the downslide by 93.

He beat Prince Rodney who is a mate of my dads.He was a very good fighter as was Prince.Chris certainly got the best of it that night.It still anoys Prince a little that despite 2 stints as British champ,the Pyatt fight is the one he is most rememberd for.

I didnt like his fight with Collins.Chris looked very small when the two came together at the start.Chris had been a pro a long time by then and it was sad to see him lose the title he worked so hard for that way.Collins moved straight up to super middle after the fight.

Pyatt was a great fighter but enjoyed a lot of physical advantages at 154 that didn't carry up to 160.
