In studio with the master trainer for the Johnny Lewis 65th birthday special.

We look at the yeoman career of one of Australia's greatest ever trainers with 5 world champions including Fenech, Harding, Tszyu and St Clair including highlights, low moments and his favourite characters in the game.

Including Interviews with:

- Bobby Hammond : Johnnys best mate with some tales of the man behind the man

- Peter Mitrevski Sr : Three weight class & former Australian flyweight, super flyweight and bantamweight champion

- Graham "Changa" Langlands : One of the greatest rugby league players ever and good friend of Johnny to explore his rugby league connection.

- Heavyweight War with George Foreman and Ken Norton
- A super middleweight bloodbath between Joey Gilbert and Jesse Brinkley

Just to correct a point made - Johnny Lewis has trained 6 individual world champions:

Jeff Fenech
Jeff Harding
Kostya Tszyu
Virgil Hill
Gairy St. Clair
Billy Dib

Happy birthday and best wishes to a legend and one of the nicest people anyone could meet. Congrats Johnny!

A querie.... Lewis looked after Virgil Hill, for the fight on the Fenech/Nelson II bout. What was his involvement later on, or before. Did he actually corner for Hill in any title bouts???

I have a gut feeling another name might be missing from that list of 6 also???

Did Lewis look after Lovemore at any stage???

The interview with Johnny was great listening DSS - pity he couldn't make it in to the studio and have a longer chat.

Came across as typically humble. His memories of Harding getting up from the canvas and beating Andries, and how the hair on his neck still stands at the thought, actually had mine standing up!

Johnny's enthusiasm for the kids he's teaching now was great to hear, and he has very high expectations for King Davidson.

A great Aussie, and in super nick for a 65 yr old.

I can't imagine a calmer head to have in your corner as an overseas title shot starts going wobbly.

I hope King Davidson delivers him another title.

I am pretty sure he didnt take care of Lovemore and it is 6 world champions.

He was only with Virgil Hill for a while but got him a world title.

Yeah, he didn't challenge the 'trainer of 6 world champions' in the interview dialogue - reckon even modest Johnny would have put it right if it wasn't (and he included Hill).

Saw him working a fella on pads about a year ago and couldn't believe the shape he was in for about 64 at the time.

His soothing words and knowledge between 3's would certainly be hard to beat.

Just quieries mate. I wasn't aware that lewis had cornered for Hill, in any title bouts. Looking forward to the next listening.
