I thought solis was slightly ahead on points until.
http://i41.tinypic.com/j67mvn.jpg and what the was wrong with bruce counting solis out like a highway patrol was after him? A great win for the hawaiian punch but I think a rematch is needed. |

Actually i watched the replay and its a 10 count.
Start counting at mark 2:51 (dont bother about youtube's time just count as a normal one) Bruce was the best ref around, Unlike the one who refd in Darchinyan/Gorrez bout which totally sux. The bell wasn't noticed because of every1 was shouting so hard. Also Viloria has his shorts a bit high but not that high, and those are real low blows he took. |

also understand, my guy won. he was on his way to winning from the first round, but because of the gray areas brought on by bruce mctavish, it takes away from what would have been a victory for brian nonetheless. |

...a fight as entertaining and greatly-matched as that deserved a rematch. I have a feeling Solis will win in a rematch. This has trilogy written all over it. Kudos to Brian for such a highly-entertaining fight. The fighting heart has improved although he needs to improve on that killer instinct of his.

viloria was winning that fight, but you could tell that those body shots were taking effect. Good thing tho was that Viloria was connecting with those power shots, heck even his jabs were wobbling Solis. If only Viloria would always fight with that kind of spirit.
Great fight! |

viloria established his jab early on and it was a great part of his success. in his fight against omar nino, viloria landed only 7 jabs in the entire fight. good thing viloria figured that out.

my point was that if you ask bruce to stop reffing fights because of some calls you did not agree with, then you should about 60% of the refs to stop doing their jobs becaise IMO mctavish is better than at least 60% of the refs today.

I think the referee didnt bother to count to 10 because he probably saw in Ulises Solis' eyes that he would not be able to continue fighting.
Even if Solis was strong willed enough to get up before the count of 10, I dont think that he would be able to capably fight back and defend himself from Viloria's punches. That would be very dangerous, letting him continue in that condition. The man was really hurt. |
