If we agree that the bomber and the greatest hold the top two slots in whatever order you preffer based on acomplishment then we have to ask the next question.
Who comes closest to challenging them for a top 2 spot based on paper resume. My personal pick would be Jack Johnson though I expect that to be controvertial. |

Dempsey is the one that comes to mind to me. He was actually rated higher than Louis by many experts, until those who actually saw him fight began to die out.
