Someone used to have an avatar with a picture of i think Nate Bolden, while it's different because i don't think he was as muscular off the top of my head, he was so ripped, as in wow.

Credit to Johnson, he must have worked his ass off, respect.

When does it dawn on people? Doesn't matter how hard you work, how much you lift, roids 'n supplements you take, unless it's in your genetics, you don't get to look like Harold Johnson...or Rocky Marciano would look twice as cut.

Getting that ripped isnt just genetics, anyone can do it with the right training, nutrition and dedication. Rocky just didnt get his bodyfat as low as Harold

I have to say he looks like he has more of a bodybuilding than boxing physique, looks like he's been lifting

Well of course you are right on how ripped one gets as being subject to hard work. But to some degree i agree with John G, in the senes that is much easier for some to bulid muscle and get ripped. I know this simply from friends going the gym together etc.

It's the myth, PP, that's fueled the body-building industry and every young boy since the bully first kicked sand in the kid's face in Charles Atlas ads on comic books.

You can ONLY be what your genetics will allow, or every dedicated fighter would look like Johnson and punch like Julian Jackson.

I agree, and if you have the DNA and the roids to supplement that excellent natural start, well......

It is was not punishable during Johnson's time, even if he did take them, which there is no evidence, other than speculation that he did.

Except in Johnson's prime they weren't commercially available or interesting to anyone outside of German Olympic teams.

I don't think steroids were used in sports during the 1940's.

They were developed in the 40s and used by some in the 50s and 60s, when Harold Johnson was also around.

I am not going to come out with a straight yes or no answer, as the evidence I have given was pure speculation and here say, without nothing to back it up, other than a hunch.
