Overly harsh, Golovkin is a good fighter and I think he'd give Sturm a real test. Golovkin is probably one of the better middleweights around right now, although that isn't saying a great deal.
Doubt he could beat Pavlik, but then again nobody left in the MW's probably can. Maybe Pirog in a few years, maybe. |

Pirog is not ready for Pavlik at all - agreed. Beating a slightly faded and immobile Kofi Jantuah indicates you are a good contender, but it doesn't suggest you should be knocking on the door of a guy like Pavlik straight away. He should be fighting guys like Zbik, Gevor, or the Sylvester/Lorenzo winner before looking Pavlik's way. Jantuah is just one guy, a powerful strong guy, but Pirog needs to experience some other styles.
That's why I say 2 years, if Pavlik is still at 160 by then. I think the other poster is harsh on Golovkin's power though. He has 14 KO's already, hardly suggests he's a weak puncher. |

Yes. Golovkin is a talent. He's got a tight defense, excellent counter punching skills and very good power. The exact type of fighter that could take advantage of an over aggressive Pavlik, who if truth does not have a top level chin. I've only seen Golovkin twice. He's a patient fighter, but could be a tad more aggressive. I think Golovkin vs. Pavlik is a good match. |

Or perhaps he's just naturally short and stocky. I think he has a lot of ability and will go far. |

Golovkin will clean up the division..
Maybe needs one, two fights on good level than he´ll wipe the floor with Pavlik, Sturm.. one of the most variable fighters ive ever seen.. speed and technique are grea, good power as well.. he is going to fight in the USA next from what i heard of.. |
