would the rock be a force to be reckoned with today against todays fighters at either welter or middle? i hardley see him whipping floyd jr or a mayorga or being the middleweight champion. what are your ideas on this?

I'm not sure if he would do all that well. He was crude and could be outpointed by most good boxers. Graziano would have his best chance against fighters who tried to brawl with him.
One thing you could say in his favour is that he would be able to fight at 147/154 today. |

He most definitely wins a title...Anyone with questionable durability and even the slightest of defensive deficiencies would be ripe for the picking for Rocky...and there have been plenty of guys like that around in the last 10 years.
But as happened in the 40's he falls short at the top level...the very best would be a bit to good for him. He is a big punchers chance against any of the weaker chinned individuals but the top technicians at 147/154 would be able to deal with him more often then not. And in this age I dont think he has much of a shot of fighting guys on even terms at 160. |
