Default The Ultimate Boxing Textbook

The Ultimate Boxer - Understand the Sport and Skills of Boxing

Christy Halbert, Ph .D.

Just bought it the other day and I had to come here and recommend this textbook for everyone here trying to learn about how to box properly.

It's the most comprehensive guide to learning the sweet science and is laid out in a very logical fashion. It covers everything from Sound Fundmentals, Proper Conditioning, Reading your opponant, Keys to strategic advantage and how to win, Drills, Boxing Science, Rules and How to utilize the amateur point system, Social Aspects, First Aid, Coaching etc etc

There's a great section on how to compete against specific styles - i.e. how to box a croucher, a southpaw, a slugger etc

The Author is a certified international-level Olympic-style boxing coach and has put it together for coaches, amateur/pro boxers, martial artists etc.

I bought the Joe Frazier book last year and I have to say this one is far superior. If anyones interested I can post the Table of Contents.
