Jones/Hopoate?

Hopoate defeats Mirovic!

By Ray Wheatley — World of Boxing

Australian heavyweight champion John Hopoate (12-3, 11 KOs) dominated Bob Mirovic (29-21-2, 20 KOs) in a rematch over ten rounds at the AIS arena, Canberra, ACT, Australia on Thursday. The powerful Hopoate, 253lbs, controlled the action in all the rounds as he bulldozed the 6.5″ Mirovic, 264 lbs, and consistently connected with hard head and body shots that visibly hurt the veteran. A right hand to the head in round seven staggered Mirovic but he remained upright and in round eight Big Bob complained to the referee Brian McMahon that Hoppa was trying to break his arm in the clinches. In their first fight in 2008 Mirovic’s arm was broken. Both fighters were fatigued in rounds nine and ten and at the conclusion Hopoate was declared the winner by scores Anthony Shipley 99-90, Pat Oconnell 97-94, Bernie McMahon 99-91.

My favorite journeyman, Grady Brewer, collects zeros for a living!! He has 4 of them in his collection at the moment, and mark my words, he'll add one or two more before he calls it a career.

Yeah, thats the fight I was talking about, on the undercard of Tua/Camerson. It was actually the first fight I've ever seen between Hoppa/Wilson so I ****ed up the names.

Bernard Hopkins:

-3 to 1 underdog versus Trinidad. 15 of 20 "experts" polled in The Ring picked Trinidad to win. Dominated Trinidad.

-3 to 1 underdog against Tarver. Dominated Tarver.

-4 to 1 underdog against Pavlik. As in the case with his other upset wins, he dominated Pavlik.

Manny Pacquiao:

-Took the Ledwaba fight on short notice, and was the betting underdog.

-Was a 4 to 1 underdog against Barrera in 2003.

-Was a 2 to 1 underdog against De La Hoya. Like Hopkins, all of these upset wins came in extremely dominant fashion.

Jimmy Young. Beat Foreman, and could have been given a decision against Ali.
