I greatly recommend reading Gold Medal Mental Training for Combat Sports by Dariusz Nowicki. It will explain which mental exercises you need to perform to be a good fighter. You can achieve everything you like with the correct mental preparation. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

No its true. Some people come from a bloodline of blood thirsty warriors where they come out of their tribal huts and blood rains from the sky. They get into their large ships and hunt aliens like fodder across the galaxy. Thats why their aunt's grandma's cousin's half brother keep the family tree in a straight line. Yeah I was born to be a warrior!!!!!!

I watch TUF and you get to see a lot of how the fighters are coming up to a fight and you see how nervous they get, And believe me they get very very nervious and then perform at a very high level!

I am actually in the middle of watching the JBD V Tyson upset and JBD talks about how the nervs help sharpen up all his senses proir to the bout!

I get that nervous feeling a lot, especially when i go out clubbing/pubbing or drinking.

I have the same kind of story where i started to bodybuild at a young age then went onto Kickboxing now at a late age ive just had my first bout in boxing, So i can really feel where your coming from!

I tried CBT once also i was ok for a short time but i just guess i live with how i feel

Nerves, in my opinion are good for a fighter as it keeps you alert and your reactions quick.

I have fought boxing and muay thai and every fight i had i was nervous as hell. You do have to relax you mind coming up to a fight though as a few times i went into the ring mantally exhuasted from worrying about things.

But i actually think i know what you mean about constantly thinking about confrontation. I do the same thing, and i think it is becuase it becomes second nature to you, to try and figure people and situations out with what you actually do best. Fighting.

I took about a year and a half to 2 year break from boxing and found i was far more relaxed around people when out at clubs and social events than when i was training for fights. Its like your mind is constantly alert for aggression. But eases up when your training eases up.

I think i know exactly what you mean.
