To those of you that listen to 2UE Sports Today

Sports Today is a great radio segment - no doubt. But alot of the time people call in with boxing related talk back and Brandy and Gibsy have no idea what to say. I think if the guys had a boxing correspondent in the seat for 1 hour a week, the sport would really benefit. A bit of q and a with someone who knew what they were talking about. Just a thought; love the show but seems lacking in boxing material. I know they include sports by how they rate in the public eye but how do we get boxing back on its feet if we cant start at even the level of radio?
Just to add to this; whilst in the USA recently i noticed they have a whole radio station dedicated to MMA and boxing. Obviously the sport is much bigger there but i mean we only have to start small. At the moment we have nothing

I have rung the boys several time. Usually I talk about boxing and you can tell that they aren't all that much interested.

FFS.......It's meant to be a sport's show.......not devoted solely to Rugby League.

You are right though.......they know SFA about boxing, and to be honest......Gibbsy isn't all that bright anyway.

I spoke to him last night about the whether the 2 points should have been deducted from the Cowboys or not.

He seemed unable to grasp the concept that under the laws of probability, the whole game was altered by the extra player being on the field for 20 secs.

From that point on......no player was going to be in exactly the same position.......no pass was going to be the same........no tackle would be the same.

The Cowboys may have gone on to win by 50 points......but also, they may have lost by the same margin.

His co-commentator got the idea.......but not Gibbsy.

Yeah, media coverage here is a joke as far as boxing goes. Which is weird because we love sport when we're winning... at the moment we've got Vic, Katsidis... had Ndou... kind of got Mundine... with a title of some kind. Yet I would struggle to find 5 people who know who Vic, Kat n Ndou are...

But alot of people love to watch a fight, they just dont go out of their way to see them unless its Tyson, Mundine or DLH.

Sports Radio in NSW is for bogans, In Melbourne We have an hour show every week hosted by Barry Michael about boxing. He often has a special guest on the show too. When i lived in NSW i honestly went crazy. all they talk about is Rugby League and only bogans call in.

I would love to commontate Danny Green's upcoming fight tho.
