It was a fun fight for sure. But just because pavlik got caught ? even the best fighter get caught sometimes like fedor by fujita doesnt mean its one of the great fights in middleweight history like people are saying. I consider a fight to go down as a classic when u have two great fighters making it a classic do anyone consider taylor great when he has shown little improvement in his skills in his last fights? I saw taylor getting out jabbed and pavlik hitting him almost at will while pavlik was doing a good job on defense for his style until the one punch that almost gotem. I saw pavlik winning easy

I saw Taylors head snap back alot in that fight by jab, and I think it was the main reason why Taylor eventualy lost, that first right hand landed nicely on the chin becouse it was set up with jab. Great fight and IMO its a FOTY material.
Pavilk proved hes a great puncher but I still see some gaps in his style. 168 guys will give him trouble for sure unless Pavilk will manage to improve his footwork. |

after watching the second round kd in slow mo it seems kelly was trying to taunt taylor after the elbow taylor threw, so im guessing kelly was just stunned at first but was still doing a good job of defending himself and still there mentally and physically. BUt he was trying to showboat or something and put he defense down and got caught with a jab that stunned him then a left right power combo that put him down.
seems he forgot how fast taylor is when he put his defense down for a moment |

It was a very good and entertaining fight but it was certainly not up there with the best middleweight fights ever or even close to Hagler Hearns. Hagler Hearns was just pure brutality and carnage. Unfortunately for Taylor he was worn down and didnt capitalise on when he hurt Pavlik nor did he take a count when he was hurt and simply took licks like Frank Bruno would.

When the underdog gets floored and almost knocked out, gets up and scores a conclusive knockout in a fight that was competitive all the way with both guys undefeated and fighting for a undisputed world title, its a classic.

Fight had both fighters tasting canvas. Check.
Fight could have gone the other way. Double Check. Fight had multiple close rounds. Check. Fight had a fighter showing tremendous heart. Check. Fight had two boxers throwing a lot of punches. Check. The only drawback I can think of in this fight is that when Pavlik's jabs started breaking down Taylor's defense in the 7th round leaving him open to some brutal power shots, Taylor didn't last very long. Best fight I've seen all year. |

no it was a very good fight. rarely do u get that great of a fight between an undefeated number 1 contender and an undefeated champion. it was a very dramatic victory for pavlik and IMO every round was a good round.
