Default Beer

Is it ok to drink 1-2 bottles at the end of the week even though you have a fight coming up? I know some of you will say dont do it, but I really dont see the harm that beer does.

Aint no thing. Other than they'll make you gain a little weight, it's no big deal. Actually, you should have a little bit of alcahol in your system: It thins the blood, helping your heart do its job and cleans the system out of other toxins. Doctors say you should have a glass or so of red wine every day.

Depends on how close the fight is. No harm in a beer or two a week but I would not have any the week of your fight. I've noticed a difference in my reflexes for several days after having alcohol.

all it will do is add weight, your body should be recovered in a day or so if you rehydrate

I get that too. Also it depletes certain vitamins in the body. The worst thing about alcohol is it affects your motivation...

Nothing is wrong with a beer or 2 every once in awhile. I don't even think a beer would have any effect at all if you drank it the night before the fight.

Like anything, beer is alright in moderation. Treating yourself to 1 or 2 beers after a long week is nothing if you follow your strict training regime. But if you can help yourself I'd recommend not have it at all.

I think you shouldn't drink at all especially since your fight is coming up. Ask a doctor or test that theory after the fight.

You can be in great shape if you drink, do drugs and smoke BUT it is harder to get in good shape. It is harder to keep the weight off and it is harder to get healthier and fitter.

You can still be in good shape i.e. Monzon BUT Monzon would obviously in that little bit better shape if he didn't smoke. Floyd eats whatever he wants but obviously he'll be that little bit better if he ate right.

Maybe the difference wouldn't even be noticeable.

I do not believe you have to be a monk. I believe you can take the Floyd or Hatton approach and be good to go at top speed.

I can't have just one beer. So I just stay spartan or go frat house, no in between.
