Toney UD. Duran never looks like winning.

Edit: Duran was not a superb middleweight, though he did beat some fine fighters whose premium attributes were physical. Toney, on the other hand, is a skilled fighter, and Duran would not eclipse him so much that his physical advantage is negated.

exactly. Most people want to give Duran credit for losing to Hagler in a decision, but the fact is that Hearns and Benitez outclassed Duran at the same time Duran went 15 with Marvin. Marvin was just tentative. Who knows why. Marvin going full steam would have stopped Duran in 7.

The Hagler version of Duran would beat most middleweights, I mean, come on, Duran could get outboxed to a close decision loss, but if he fought like he fought Antuofermo, Duran would have won. Vito had no defense. If it was a 12 round fight he was the undisputed middleweight champion. Marvin Hagler was lucky to escape with a W and his titles. Duran got tired in the final 2 or 3 rounds. Toney was never good at chasing his opponents. Hagler was better at chasing. Duran by very close decision.

Ps. I like both guys but like Duran much better.
Ahead by like 1 point in the 12th...

Also Toney has too much skill for Duran to overcome the size disadvantage.
Toney should win this one.

Hagler simply wasn't a fighter who wanted to come forward.

Agree, Toney's a talented boxer and a more natural middleweight. He should win this pretty easily.

As much as I like Duran and think that Toney's an asshole,I can only see 'Lights Out' winning this one. Pound for pound,Roberto's one of the best ever, but James is better at Middleweight.

Toney by around four points.
