Default How can a guy score three knockdowns...

....and only accumulate 110 in 12 rounds. I know technically, its possible, but come on that scorecard for McCline v Peter is practically unfathomable.

The 115-110 card read something like this:

10-9
8-10
7-10
10-9
10-9
10-9
10-9
10-9
10-9
10-9
10-9
10-9

...feasible enough I'd say.

I've not seen the fight, so clearly my view is far from informed. But reports I've read suggested McCline rocked Peter to his boots in the sixth and had a case for more rounds later on too.

As I say, that's a third hand view.

Comfortable enough verdict for Peter in the end. I scored it 116-111, though some of the rounds were close calls scoring-wise.

(I gave McCline the 3rd, 4th and 6th round, from memory).

Peter is a puncher. But his power is qualified by knocking Klitschko over; an event so frequent even David Hasslehoff refuses to sing every time.

His boxing skills are qualified by his beating of a fat, old Middleweight. A fact, as Terry alludes, almost matched by a club fighter and Toney is a fighter from whom both his promoter and trainer are attempting to distance themselves. He's shot.

I know retrospectively, denigrating every fighter is possible, but Peter is a flawed specimin. However, you couldn't suggest the fight wasn't gutsy and entertaining.

But they said that about Michael Grant when he climbed off the floor to beat Golota.

The big buggers are fighting one another though. That's something.

I saw the fight and IMHO one of McClines KD rounds was not a 10-8. He was getting dominated and the KD gave him a 10-9 on my card.

I think the scoring was OK, Peter got a lot of close 10-9s in the middle rounds and won the last 2 or 3 clearly.

Mccline fought a decent fight but as usual he fought on the backfoot like a scared rabbit. If he had let his hands go he would have KO`ed Peter. Peter did well to come back but by no means did he win comfortably. The fight was much closer than the judges had it.Peters work as normal was pedestrian and crude. His lucky the divison is so weak right now. To be honest if he had to fight Oliver Mccall tommorow my money would be on Mccall by 9th round TKO. Peter is there to be hit and is too rough and raw to handle the best in his division.
