I agree with dangerousity.
For your 3rd sparring session, you appear to be better than some who've been training longer. You look like you have composure. You're somewhat calm and relaxed; most guys who are just starting to spar tend to tense up. You've got decent head movement as well. Try throwing feints. As he attempts to catch or counter, throw your own punch. It's good that you actually try to go for body shots. Try slipping an occasional uppercut into his solar plexus. |

yeah i thought you were head hunting a lot and when you would get on the inside you wouldn't throw any combos or anything you would land like one shot and then get out. You need to take more chances and stay on the inside.

I just found this in a stickied thread by a username ChrisPontius on dealing with taller fighters, i want to know what people think about it:
"My favorite method; stay just outside of his range most of the time and pick your spots carefully but equally violently. The best way to do this is to time his jab or right hand, duck/slip, step inside, and BANG! throw a hard counter right followed by a left hook, uppercut, or whatever you like. AND DON'T STOP PUNCHING! The tall man will do anything to keep the fight on the outside, so once you're inside your only have precious time; you can't afford to relax or let him off the hook. This is your time so use it damnit! When he gets out of range or ties you up, you simply start over, by staying just a little bit away from his range. Depending on him, you will either back up or come forward slowly. When he makes his move, you make yours. Of course, you have to add some variation to not become predictable, so you can add a few jabs or come in using a Tysonesque bob and weave attack. Keeping a tight, high guard throoghout is very important." Jordaw - i agree with taking more chances and capitalizing on the inside position, my coach said the exact same thing. Vibit - i find the solar plexus uppercut a bit hard to execute. everytime i throw it i feel like im gonna get hit in the head, is there a way to throw these with as little window of vulnerability as possible? i tried working with uppercuts in the video below but im not quite sure if im doing them right.
