Interested to hear 'Manny' say that our Casino (Crown in Melbourne) is the only one around that bans boxing.
Bit sad that. I know having visited Star City recently that they are, or at least seem to be, great supporters of boxing. Crown are bloody good with their double standards. They let dickheads like Fevola muck up on AFL Brownlow Medal night, ban him, then let him back to the next function cause there's a buck in it for them! |

Its a tough one to negotiate. Vic is the bigger draw but wants the rematch desperately. I wonder what the purse split is? 60:40 for Vic? |

Could go down the 'but kickboxing are a different crowd' path...it's certainly a case of the few spoiling it for the majority. You gotta wonder why Sydney can make it work and Melbourne stuff it up. |

Sydney's not really making it work in the Casino.
Only 1 card in the last couple of years. Sydney does seem to have a lot more general venues available whilst Melbourne has retreated to the racetracks. |

As Manny said the Councils aren't too keen down here either.
When I was there Star City Casino were promoting the Green v RJJ fight bigtime - including sparring sessions, pressers etc. |

Sydney doesnt do many town halls either. The saviour up there is RSL's/Big Clubs.
Star City are open to big stars like Jones staying on site. Their payback is the obvious publicity but the real reason is that the stars are generally introduced to the high rollers in the VIP room for a "money can't buy experience". They don't give a @#$%^ about local boxing because they don't really have a room big enough and all of the fight fans generally go there anyway. |
